Art Club Accepts Award

The Porterville Veterans Memorial Building was filled with a sense of Pirate pride on Wednesday, March 25, as the Exchange Club of Porterville hosted its 65th Annual Public Safety Recognition Dinner. While the evening traditionally honors the brave men and women in law enforcement and fire services, a special highlight of this year’s event was the recognition of the Porterville College Art Club.

PC Art Club students were officially honored for their recent contribution to our downtown landscape, which is a vibrant mural dedicated to our local first responders. The project has quickly become a local landmark and serves as a permanent expression of gratitude to those who protect the community.

During the ceremony, the students were presented with a certificate of appreciation recognizing their exceptional artistic talent, their tireless community spirit, and their commitment to civic engagement through their tribute.

The dinner has served as a cornerstone of Porterville tradition for over six decades. This year's program featured Judge Doug Rogers as the keynote speaker. Drawing on his extensive experience in the U.S. Army and the Tulare County Superior Court, Rogers spoke eloquently about leadership and the vital importance of public service. His message was perfectly mirrored by the Art Club’s creative gift to the city.

The Exchange Club of Porterville continues to bridge the gap between youth development and community outreach. By honoring these students alongside veteran first responders, the event highlighted the powerful impact that occurs when different generations work together to foster community pride.
